A Simple Yet Powerful Tool Every Homeowner Should Own
Outlet Testing
I recently picked up the VEVOR Outlet Tester with GFCI Trip and LCD display, and it’s quickly become one of my go-to tools for home projects. As a DIYer, I’ve pulled it out numerous times—whether I’m checking wall outlets, troubleshooting a weird circuit, or testing GFCIs. This little gadget is fast, easy, and gives real peace of mind.
Why it works
Clear, intuitive display. The LCD screen is a big upgrade over the old three-light testers—you get exact voltage readings, clear wiring-status icons, and even trip-time info for GFCIs No more guessing what the blinking lights mean.
One-button GFCI test. Just plug it in, hit the button, and it trips the GFCI if everything’s wired right—super handy and reassuring
Auto-shutoff & battery indicator. It shuts off after a few minutes to save battery, and it alerts me when power’s low
Plugs in, tells me what’s up with my outlets… perfect for quick checks
Screen’s a game‑changer… holds the reading after I unplug it
What it isn’t
It won’t replace a full-featured multimeter, especially for deeper electrical diagnostics—but for homeowners, it captures the most common issues: open ground, reversed hot/neutral, and faulty GFCI functionality.
Final verdict
If you're doing basic wiring checks, gotta be sure your GFCIs work, or just want a quick and reliable way to verify outlets during projects, this tester is really solid. It’s affordable, intuitive, and built tough. I honestly keep mine right in the toolbox—just plug, read, and go. Highly recommended for any DIY toolbox.

I tried to save a few $ by ordering it thru vevor then this happened.
Voltage Detection
Got it in mail installed Batteries and it did not work. It's the only one I bought from Vevor that did not work. I put it aside but I forgot all about it. I lost

Very Handy BUT !
Outlet Testing
Very handy device, bought one for myself and one for one of my hunting partners. Checked both units out and the voltage difference between them was OVER 8 Volts consistently from the same test socket during multiple tests. (118 VAC and 126 VAC)

VEVOR Outlet Tester Electrical GFCI Trip Tester LCD Display Receptacle Detector
Outlet Testing
Nice idea for a product, that might be very useful but
1. it is too big and when you have dual outlet, it covers part of the second one.
2 if you plug it to a surge protector or an outlet for a lamp (up side down) the display does not rotate.
3. it uses 2 AAA batteries, that will leak if you leave them in.

This product requires an eye-glass size screwdriver to insert the batteries. I don't have one. So for me, this product does not work.
