I have not hooked up yet but I do hvac for a living. and this thing seems pretty bulletproof. this model has variable speed compressor so I would reccomend over others. more bang for your buck.

Works great. 20k gallon pool. Installed myself after watching some online videos and buying a few tools. Will update if I have any issues.

Only 3 weeks in - so far this heater has been very solid and heats great. I will update if necessary. My only complaints come with the shipping as it doesn't track well being it is such a large item. We did have to hire folks to install it as it needs a 50 amp electrical box that needs to be ran to your main box. It took us about a week of trial and error to find out that being set at 89 degrees will keep it around the desired 80 degrees. It does not measure the pool temp- it measures the output temp so you have to see play with it a little but its not a problem. It hooked up fine to our pentair pump which we had to reset to basically run non-stop to keep the heat-pump circulating. These little tweeks were not hard to figure out. Also had a few questions that I ran by the customer service chat line and they were great to deal with. I actually worked with them before making the purchase and their great service helped me decide on making my purchase. The cost is about a 1/3 of what it would have cost for one of the top name brands. Make sure to do your homework if you need to have it installed- it cost about the same to install as to purchase- but my installers needed to run 90 ft of electrical and dig under a sidewalk and covered it all beautifully with condiut- they were worth every penny spent! They also could not believe how well built this unit was. From what I read this unit is very economical- i will update my post after a couple electrical bills and again after a couple more in the Maricopa winter months which get quite a bit colder than most people think. So far I would highly recommend this purchase. It is not designed to heat a pool from 60° to 80° overnight but rather over a 2-3 day period and then to keep it fairly steady efficiently. It is also very quiet- our house a/c is only 4 years old and is much louder. The programing is pretty straightforward and would probably have been easier if I had taken the time to read the instructions 😀
