This says tankless but it also says capacity like it’s a tank. Is the 5.3gal supposed to be 5.3GPM? Or does it hold 5.3 gallons and then has to refill when empty and the reheat the new cold water?
All gas water heaters can be considered tankless. The water tank in a gas water heater is pipe-type, and it's always flowing once it's turned on. Electric water heaters, on the other hand, are what truly have a water tank; they are tank-shaped containers for storing water.

I want to use this for an outdoor shower which is hooked to a shed. I will be for seasonal use only can I drain this unit for the winter?
It cannot be used if the temperature is below 0 degrees, as the water in the pipe will freeze and damage the chassis. It is recommended to store it.
