I'm very happy with the VFD, it powers my 3 phase 220 lathe and set up was straight forward. I height recommend it.

There is a word count limit so I am giving you the basics hope this helps mine now reads in RPM and it runs great I set up a lower limit of 12000 rpm so my air cooled spindle does not over heat.P01.10 has to be inputted first. Auto tune is required especially for a cnc spindle(otherwise it could damage it auto tune figures out your winding resistance and specs) My name plate Spindle settings(use your own to set up): Max freq:300hz Max Rpm 18000rpm Max Current:13.5amps Max Power 4kw Put settings in then do auto tune then put lower frequency limit in last if needed.. Switch two wires Of UVW to change rotation if required(verify rotation when doing auto tune and verify again after because it may need changing again bug maybe). Do not start motor until after auto tune done(auto tune requires you press run to start it though). In totality here are the settings(mine yours may differ): P01.10=300(Maximum output frequency 300hz in my case as on spindle name plate) ) P01.08=300(Preposition frequency 300hz in my case as on spindle name plate) ) P01.12=300(Upper Limiting Frequency 300hz in my case as on spindle name plate)) P01.01=0(Motor control mode in our case Speed Sensorless Vector Control) P01.17=10(Acceleration time in seconds) if set too low and you will trip on current overload P01.18=10(deceleration time in seconds) if set too low back emf will trip vfd P02.00=1(motor type variable frequency asynchronous motor) P02.01=4(rated power of motor 4kw in my case as on spindle name plate) P02.02=220(rated voltage of motor 220v in my case as on spindle name plate) P02.03=13.5(rated current of motor 13.5 amps in my case as on spindle name plate) P02.04=300(rated frequency of motor 300hz in my case as on spindle name plate) P02.05=18000(rated speed of motor 18000rpm in my case as on spindle name plate) P08.03=14(led displays parameter 1in Operation status load speed display) P08.03=14(led displays parameter 2in Operation status main frequency X display calculates rpm value for display) After programming start an auto tune: P02.37=2 (press enter then run button) To set a lower frequency/rpm limit(do this only after auto tune is done it needs the full range to tune): P01.14=200 (12000rpm/18000rpm X 300hz sets the floor at 200hz or 12000rpm) In case you need to start over and reset to factory defaults: P17.01=1 Leave a reply if this helps :) As for DI,Do, and PWN inputs that's going to be a you tube video..

Runs a 7.5hp 3 phase air compressor and doesn't skip a beat. Programming is confusing at first but there are many videos available online for similar units that can get you started.

I bought this for testing 3 phase motors I'm working on. It works good. It is a nice little VFD. The terminals are good, but they do require you to use a U shaped connector, but I do that anyways. The only bad I can say is about how the cables/wiring routes. There is no way to secure the cables. There are just slots on the bottom the wire will pass through, not holes like most boxes where you would put a compression fitting. So I just mounted the vfd on a board, and ran the cable through a P clamp for strain relief and to keep the wires from being pulled at the terminals. I can do that at home, but would not be acceptable at work as code where I'm at requires cables to be secured at the entrance to any box/device.

Great unit, lots of video/etc support out there to help and such. Figured out how to even get it to display machine spindle RPMs which was a considerable bonus (they really ought to explicitly describe that process in their manual, seriously). Zero complaints.

Unit does everything it's supposed to do and more. Instruction manual is very complicated and not easy to understand, it needs considerably more detail about each function The unit can run a 120 volt or 240 volt permanent split capacitor motor if the capacitor is removed and the winding wire is attached to the unit basically it works like a three-phase motor make sure your unit is sized to handle the startup load. All in all good can do many features and many things needs more clear instruction manual or at least a website address where you can go and research for the price a damn good unit

If it is a 220V three-phase asynchronous motor, it is ok, but please note that the power cord must be thick enough, otherwise the power cord will heat up or the voltage drop will be too large. Pay attention to measuring the voltage of the 220V power supply screw of the inverter during work.

I have a 5 hp heavy duty grinder, 208/230 -3 phase . Can I use this inverter to run it? I have found out in the past that if you use a heavier duty inverter that it will last longer , if not will the 5.5 hp inverter work ok and be a reliable unit ? Thanks again ! Steve

It's okay to drive the motor directly, but generally it can't drive the entire device. The switches and other control panels in the entire equipment cannot be powered by VFD.
