The thermal imaging camera does a really nice job at detecting and recording thermal variables on various media from bituminous concrete to wood. The instrument is very useful for observing/recording thermal images associated with air leaks, electrical charge, moisture, and other sources. By combing the infrared with the visual image you can assess the thermal observation with a recognisable object like a door or electrical fixture. It comes with a handy protective holster, removable micro chip, and usb charge cord. A must have tool for any home inspector/energy auditor.

My initial impressions are that this unit is well made and I'm impressed with the resolution and functionality so far. I'll update if I have issues.

Previously used one that plugged into my iPhone, which was smaller, but honestly a lot more fiddly. This one you just grab, turn on, bam. Use it quite a bit for RC cars -- making sure the motor temps/gears etc are all within acceptable limits (can tell if pushing a motor too hard). Also great for around the house during winter to see where cold is leaking in.

I'm a General Contractor and I'm kicking myself for not getting this sooner. It is amazing what these things can tell you. In my own house I found entire pockets of uninsulated ceiling and walls. I can see where cold air is leaking in and even where the studs and ceiling joists are through the drywall. Love it. It also paid for itself when I used it to help locate a leak in a clients house. My only desire would be that it came with a semi hard case. It comes with a bag. Other than that, awesome!

I use this thermal camera for multiple purposes. I use it tracing electrical, plumbing, and for diagnosis on vehicles. The camera turns on quickly, feels good in my hands, and is easily operated with one hand. It comes with a SD card so that you can take images of what you're looking at, so if you need a larger image, you can save it for use on your computer. The display also shows the coldest and hottest spot in the area, which comes in useful, and the color gradient for temperature is easy to see. The battery life is excellent, and it comes in a quality case for safekeeping.

This thermal imaging camera is great for checking heat loss, water leaks, overheated outlets and switches, etc. Can set as either Celsius or Fahrenheit. Also has capability to record and comes with as card.

Let me first say that this heat detector came with a Name brand Kensington SD card instead of some knockoff random Chinese sd card with no branding. I respect that. It also came with a nice case that fits the gun perfectly.The heat gun detected all the areas in my house where the temperature varies. The gun shows many different colors and may be distracting, but you’ll want to look at where the little square in the middle of the screen is pointing because that’s here the temp reading is based on.This things temperature goes up and down based on temp like it should (this is all you need). But the actual reading itself may be elevated a few degrees. Not a problem.I would highly recommend this gun. It’s about the same price of other guns if it’s quality.(I didn’t need to record to the sd because that’s not why I got it).The photo shows how you can see the heat of your forced air vents, virtually allowing you see see into your walls.
