It was easy to install. I opted for using a 6v battery, which snugly fit inside after removing the AA holder. This is day 4 of use and so far it's great!

This chicken door works great. It was easy to install, easy to program and is very reliable. I installed mine 2 months ago and it hasn't failed once. Someone mentioned in a previous review that it eats up batteries. Well, it's been 2 months and I haven't had to replace the batteries yet. The only thing I don't like about it is that the description said it comes with an ac adapter... it came with something they're apparently calling an adapter, but it doesn't look like any adapter I've seen before. It's like an alligator clip with 2 wires coming out of it. I have no idea how it's supposed to work. But, the batteries are working fine.

We used this for our duck coop. Easy to install. Instructions aren’t great but we were able to work through them. So far the couple things I’ve noticed is that the internal clock does seem to wander a bit over time and the control for the light/time sensor only seems to work on the time function but we’ve adapted and we love the functionality of it.

Thus far the door has been great. It opens and closes as we have it set. Very easy to accomodate to coop door. We can go on vacation without worry (hopefully) that our ladies will be fine. We do have someone checking in to make sure all is o.k. Glad we bought this door.

I have updated my review since upgrading to the latest version. This version (now shipping) is excellent. You can set it to open or close the door 30, 60, or 90 minutes after sunset/sunrise using DIP switches and a knob allows you to tweak the brightness threshold. You can even choose one of three motor strength settings. The mechanism is simple, reliable, and works well. This updated version has all of the flexibility you need while still being very simple to set up.

I installed the T40 door today. It was very easy to install since there are just six screws to install it and I already had the hole cut for the door. I installed it in the inside of my chicken coop as the windows provide more than enough light to operate the sensor.

This door is awesome. No more waking up at sunrise to let the hens out. I have the door set to close 1 hour after dark to make sure all our hens get in their coop.

Great item. Seems very well made. Sturdy. I really like the direct drive system vs the separate string roller that other automatic doors have. Had to do a little fine tuning on the closing adjustment at dark. Been about a month now, and I would definitely recommend this product.

This is a remarkably well designed/thought out product. I was a little hesitant given it costs the same as the "name brand" pophole doors, but its design is just a billion times better.

We've had it on about a month now and have yet to have an issue. It opens when it should and all the birds are in by the time it closes. We free range a large flock so it's nice knowing we don't have to be at home ALL the time at dusk to close the door. It is light activated, so a flashlight will set the door to open when shined on it. I had planned to have a motion light above it, but won't now because of this. We'll see how it fares winter.
