Good product if you can figure out how to install on your machine.
The product is good, but the install instructions are terrible. There are no instructions detailing how to measure the shims for proper adjustment. I installed mine on a Bridgeport mill with the old gear drive. The install requires you to modify the lead screw and cut new woodruff key seats. All in all, I’m pleased with the product, but the install is not a plun play.

Plenty of power!
I rebuild machines for a living and can say I have installed a lot of these power feeds over the years! This unit is well made for it’s crazy inexpensive price. When you consider the cost of the servo brand at almost $1,000 these work great easy to install

Good product so far
I read all the reviews on the power feed and understand some of the installation problems people described. These types of units never come with very good installation instructions so a little extra time needs to be spent finding the correct shim thicknesses to do it correctly. This unit is a replacement unit and it required a little work to get setup exactly as required. Most of the complaints I read appear to be related to how the unit was installed and it being noisy. From my experience installing several power feeds is that the noisier units weren’t shimmed correctly and had to be adjusted until they were installed correctly. Shimming is very important and if done correctly the unit will operate properly and be very quiet. My old WellSetting unit worked great but regardless of how I shimmed it it was noisy. It failed after about 20+ years of use in my shop. This new unit went on as I expected it to and is super quiet compared to the old unit. It has been on and used for several hours now and works flawlessly.. I just hope I get many good years if service out of it given it‘s a low priced unit. No complaints so far.

Works great after modifying to fit, Instructions are uselet
Once installed with proper lash on the gears it works great. A few parts are junk but at this price you simply can't complain or really expect much more. Here are the issues I found when installing on my Bridgeport Series 1 2HP: 1. The gear comes pre-greased with some NASTY gooey stuff that you HAVE TO get off completely to properly set the lash... That's just dumb. They need to just put the goo in a little squeeze packet for the user to put on after setup or just skip it altogether and put a note for the user to be sure to grease the gear. How dumb is it to pre-install gelrease that you have to remove/waste? 2. The brass gear was 0.200" too tall for my machine so when I put the original handle back on there weren't enough threads for the nut.... Simple enough to machine it off and definitely better that it was too long than too short! 3. The limit stops are plastic and mine weren't molded "square" so the spring loaded stops were angled away from the table and barely made contact with the switch. Super easy part to make out of aluminum but something that simple should be correct out of the box. 4. No bolts are included to mount the limit switch to the machine. 5. The small bolt intended to attach the plastic cord holder clip under the table to route and secure the limit switch cord is the wrong size (too small diameter) and it already BARELY fits through the plastic clip. I had to get a new larger bolt and corresponding clip. 6. The bracket that mounts to the table has oval holes, presumably to make this more generic and fit more clones. The downside is that the socket head bolts don't have a full and solid seating surface and when tightening you can feel the aluminum giving way under the clamping force. The solution is to use a washer but off the shelf washers didn't fit into the recessed hole so I went to the specialty hardware store and grabbed 4 machine screw washers and they fit (barely). Sanding / turning down the perimeter of regular grade 8 washers would work too. All in all, it is good for the price and the few inconveniences aren't what I would consider a deal breaker. The sad thing is that those inconveniences were 100% avoidable with perhaps a 5 to 10 cent cost increase to the manufacturer.... And if they DID implement those changes it would make this thing worth more simply for time and frustration saved! Heck, I probably wasted $5 worth of acetone and brake cleaner and added 30 minutes to the install getting all the Shmoo off the gearbjust so I could set the lash properly!

Really good value
Product is very affordable compared to the proper unit for my 1hp Bridgeport machine. It seems to work well and is much cheaper. However, like many other comments have mentioned. It requires some light trimming to fit. I had to file down the keyway and a couple other small things. It's not much and relatively easy to do.The bang for the buck is certainly there and it's well worth the purchase.
