I designed and built my own Murphey bed from an old cabinet bed frame I had and using pictures I found online. I am able to adjust the tension so it goes up and down pretty easily and the hinges are almost hidden completely.

They work great i would buy them again

CAUTION! This did come with instructions, but it's only one page and very cryptic. There are no instructions to make a Murphy bed, just vague instructions on how to install it. Buyer beware.Other than that, I made it work for me, since I'm a DIYer. It's plenty sturdy, and with the added ability to remove springs, opening and closing the bed is a cinch.
