Chicken door
Received this as a gift in the fall. Door itself is thin, but I’m not trying to keep out bears.I really like the motor or linear actuator, operates smoothly and holds the door firmly shut. I haven’t used the remotes, nor do I plan to. The infrared sensor works as designed. The light photo sensor has an adjustable knob to change opening and closing times.Like others, I had an issue after a month or two, wouldn’t open or sometimes wouldn’t close. I contacted the seller, sent a video of it not working. I thought it was a bad motherboard and told them so.I was sent a new motherboard, power supply and photo sensor within a week.Worked flawlessly all winter since the repair. For the cost, and the customer service I would buy it again.

Update****No customer service to replace defective parts!!
When you reach customer service you will be asked to send them a video of your problem, English is not their native language. It’s best to tinker with it and work out the issues yourself. Once you figure it out it works just fine, plan on tinkering with itWe have had issues with the automatic chicken door since installing, with the seller only response being “watch this video and send us a video of what it is doing wrong “.The door wouldn’t operate at all! How do you video that? I had to figure it out on my own which was in the heat sensor having a short. We have had the opener installed for 2 months now and if one of the girls hit the sensor it causes the door to not operate. We then have to get the sensor move the sensor until it makes contact inside the sealed sensor.Do not buy this opener unless you have some electrical knowledge and want to trouble shoot on your own, the seller is not helpful not do they warranty the product.

Good product, good price, good customer service
Strong door that works very well. After about a month of operation it stopped working. I contacted customer service who promptly responded and sent some replacement parts that got the door running again. Very happy with their customer service!

Great Value
I installed this coop door (the model with the photo sensor). Installation was quick and hook up was simple. My coop has a 12' X 18' hoop house for the chickens to roam in the winter as they don't like the snow. This also protects the door and its electronic from the elements. Didn't close all the way the first night, but has worked flawlessly ever since. I recommend this highly. It's a great value for a door with a screw drive opener/closer.

Update#2 Works ok after a year... needs A27 batteries for remotes
About the remote issues and “Dolly” said that they would send replacements that never came. I am trying to figure out the garage or door gate type to get one to work. 2nd addition for remotes. I conacted the seller Update to my previous review... I am having a terrible time with the batteries in the remotes and am trying to figure out which universal remote works with them. Contacted the seller to get some input. Also I had to add an electric timer that stores the times. The door would open way to early and close way to quick for all of the birds to get it. So I had to add a timer to stage the power 2 a day. I wish that there was a dip switch delay system rather than the adjustable knob with unknown times, but it doesn’t appear to be really that long.Original below:Overall I enjoy the product and is a definite improvement from going out every night and morning. I finally got the automatic door working right, but does not have a manual switch so you can force it close or open. You can only use the remotes provided and they don't seem to be quite right. There is no documentation on how thee remote is really suppose to work or operate them i will post the only documentation in the pictures. it seems that the direction buttons don't seem to make much difference. Also I had trouble originally with the door sensor. It seems that the bracket that is supplied for the safety sensor was bent in towards the door setting it off. I removed their bracket and screwed to a separate piece of wood. Now it works correctly. I did have to comfy thief email service and there was a bit of delay and I don’t think they truly understood my questions. I eventually figured out myself. The final part is the batteries... why didn’t they add them for the two for the remotes. Buy them when you are ordering the door. They are hard to find and had to pay a lot more at a store. Why weren’t they included but the remotes are great.

Update the light sensor is not working any more. Would like to convert this one to a timer.
It was okay then it quit working....Would like to convert this one to a timer??Works great, my only compliant is that the operation instructions are simply pictures. My final adjustments that made it work perfect. Turn the opening time to the earliest setting and the closing setting to the latest. Since I also have a camera I can see that all my girls are in the coop and on their perch a good half hour before the door closes, in the morning a few are awake before the door opens. I am very satisfied with this door. it was simple to install.

I would recommend this unit.
Best value out there. It has been working perfectly for 6 weeks so far and looks like it will last. It really HOLDS the door shut so I do not worry about anyone breaking into my coop in the night. I had to modify the door because the inclosed "hinge" tripped the in-door-way sensor while closing, but this was easy to do. I wish it had a timer to delay the opening of the door because it opens at first light, which foxes tend to run, but this can be fixed by using the remote. I would buy again.
