Great and affordable posts for cable railing

Lots of cable railing at my house. I used a combination of muzata and vevor. Vevor is good quality, had no issues and was by far the most affordable option.

Overall very good experience using the vevor cable railing system. Would highly reccomend this product to the average handyman. I spent approximately $2600 to complete 50' of railing, including these top rails, the posts, 1/8" wire rope, wire/post protector sleeves, wire tensioners, as well as vevors hydraulic crimping tool. Cons: - the main hiccup in my project was vevor sending me half 42" and half 36" posts despite ordering all 42" posts. After a couple day back-and-forth, they refunded the posts for the full cost and allowed me to keep the posts. - the posts only come with concrete anchor, so I needed to buy some GRK screws from hardware store to secure them to my wooden structure. - be careful as the black metal is very easy to scratch. It is difficult to fasten the top rail to the posts. I had best success putting a couple layers tape around the top of the post to protect it. - the "self tapping" crews that came with the posts to fasten to the top rail do not work at all, even when everything is pre drilled. Do not waste your time, and get some hex-head self tapping screws from a hardware store. Pros: - everything I received is very high quality and robust. Very easy to install. The entire project took my approximately 12-15 hrs. to complete - the top rail can be cut (I used an angle grinder with a higher quality metal disk) - the cable system does not sacrifice your view, and looks very modern and clean

This product is great and well constructed. I think they should make a video of how to install it because the installation instructions are not to clear. Step 1: Install your posts about 4 to 5 feet apart, not more and level them. ( I went 4 FT apart) Step 2, install your hand rail. You should use a drill press because you need to spray oil on your drill bit while applying good pressure. The handrail is very hard to drill through. Cut the hand rails with a chop saw using a metal blade, you will also need a grinder or a metal hand file for the edges which will be sharp. Install the hand rail temporarily and mark your holes with a sharpy, I used cable ties to secure the railing temporarily. Step3: Install the cable and don't forget the protector sleeves. The protector sleeves are not required but do a better finishing job, however, they don't really fit in the corner post. You will need a hydraulic crimping tool to crimp the sleeves at both end, double crimp them if you can. Run your cable through the first post and add the protector sleeves as you go, at the end, crimp the end sleeve and run it in the post hole. Go to the other end, pull on the cable to tighten it and mark the cable at the point before it enters the hole in your post and that will be your length required.

Perfect

These worked perfectly for what we wanted to accomplish. Bought one set to test then bought 3 more. Things to note is the bushing size of the post when buying them and height of post. I bought 42in hight for a commercial setting.

Post were great. Solid and straight. My only complaint was the handrail attachment plate could be longer. The post is in the way so you can not drive the screw in straight into the handrail. If your using the 6.5 Stainless handrail good luck you will never get it attached. The only way you can do it is to mark the handrail and attached the plate to the handrail. Then hope it all lines up when you go to attached the plate to the post. I am not sure why the plate is not longer. It's going to be seen either way.

Great for the price. Could be a bit stronger as the connection from the rail mount to the top of the post cannot withstand significant tensioning of the cable without bending. Might be a problem if municipal inspection tests the cable tension to meet code.

Railing posts

Rails connect to handrail fine. Problem is the top insert grommets on top of posts. When you tighten your horizontal cables tight, you start to haul the stems out of posts. Need to be attached stronger. End result is cables can't go too tight which doesnt work for our building codes here. Great looking product but disappointed cause I'm out cost to replace with balluster s.
