How do I remove the rivng knife?

Fence attachment, what is the purpose of the black attachment to the rip fence and do the numbers on the saw line up with and with out it. At the bottom to measure and cut it.
There are two rows of numbers on the ruler corresponding to the scale used alone and in combination. The use of additional baffles is not only a safety requirement, but also can cut thin plates.
