Yes I have used it about 4 times so far, it is not a true commercial quality plumbers tool but it work for my needs perfectly for much less.

I am not 100% sure, but feels like metal. The main thing I don't like this unit is there is no snake wheel so I have to lay all snake straight on the ground in order to drive it moving forward. I release the drive and hand feed the snake until I hit a resistance, then drive it for a few feet, then release again and use hand to move the snake forward and backward a few times, normally this will unclog the drain. As soon as I see draining starts I will retrieve the snake by hand hoping to grab as much stuffs as possible to minimize the chance of the stuffs get clogged again further down the pipe.
