I will be replacing an existing solar attic fan that is not working. The current duct hole is 17" or 432mm. I see this fan has a duct size of 350mm, but i can't seem to find any solar fans with a larger duct size. Will this fan work for me considering a 17" hole or can you recommend another fan option.

We do not currently sell larger solar fans. You can add some support plates under the base.

Would this fit on a standard static whirlybird mount?

Hello! The diameter of this product’s duct is 350 mm. If the hole in the customer’s existing centrifugal fan bracket is no larger than this size, it should fit. If this answer does not resolve your issue, please contact us again for assistance.

You say it is compatible with metal and masonry roofs and show such images. Can it be mounted onto asphalt shingled roofs?
