Breaker Safety Purpose: A circuit breaker exists to protect the wire from melting, not to protect the device itself. If you use a 60-amp breaker with small wires suited for a 25-watt load (like 14-gauge or 16-gauge), a short circuit will likely cause the wires to melt or start a fire before the 60-amp breaker trips. why do you recommend a 60 amp breaker?

Our motor has a rated current of 25A, and the selection of circuit breakers is generally recommended to be 2-2.5 times the rated current of the motor. Therefore, it is recommended to use a circuit breaker of around 60A to control this air compressor, and to use wires of 10AWG or above, which is more reasonable.

The FLA of 25A is 3A more than many typical 5HP designs, which is nearly 700W more. That's pretty significant. Is this motor therefore more powerful, or is it less efficient, than typical 5HP motors?

Is this motor thermally protected ? If not i will have to purchased a motor starter

It is thermally protected, but the HP rating is way off, doesn't have the power of a 2 HP. I will have to buy another for my compressor since it is so weak. Don't waste your money
