At first glance it appeared that the shelving might be rather flimsy. However, upon completing the assembly, it was apparent that I was wrong in my assessment. The shelving went together pretty easily (a second set of hands would have been helpful but were not available) after a few awkward moments and the result was a stable and strong storage unit with adjustable shelves. I was impressed by the care taken in packaging and the inclusion of all needed parts plus a few extra-including a small hammer and some safety gloves. The instructions are adequate (if you are wise enough to read and follow them). I would recommend obtaining the assistance of another person until the unit can stand independently on all four uprights. The most frustrating part of the whole assembly process was trying to hold on to one section upright while attempting to attach another railing. Not having the help cost a lot of extra time and frustration. I would purchase this again without hesitation.
