The best way is to clean it frequently. Cleaning once a week when the weather is hot will prevent bacteria from growing.

Cools pretty good. This type cooler is different and it does well compared to others on the market. It is not an air conditioner with Freon so you can’t expect it to be an air conditioner. Does well

Awesome! Bought 2 so far. Will be buying one more for the last room. Running the central air cost SO MUCH $$$$$. House would only get down to 80° which is just fine, but again, just too much $$$. It was a little over $700 for July. After purchasing 2 of these units, I was still able to get it down to 80°!! Which is AWESOME! Electric bill was then under $300! Yes, $300 versus the latter. This unit was also the best bang for your buck! Believe me, I did some research on these for price and cfm's. This one was at the top of the list for sure.

Excellent cooler!
Don't waste your money on Artic Chills and such. These a restaurant grade coolers that you can use inside and out. Room cooled down to 68 degrees in 11 minutes until I had to turn it down. I live in Cape Coral and our AC is on the blink.

This machine is by no means a replacement for a real air conditioner, however, for my needs it's absolutely perfect. I use it to cool off a very small room where I can sleep in the heat, and this device does what they say it does. Adding ice packs or ice really improves the cooling for a few hours, but even at room temperature it still takes about 10° off of the temperature, plus the fan is very strong. I've only had it for about 6 weeks and it has already paid for itself in electrical savings.

Awesomeness intime of need for cooling my basement down
This machine came in time of needed for my family visiting this summer, the heat was quite bit this summer and the Evaporative Cooler was really done the job. It feels like having a air condition with more power on the fan. The cold from placed two ice box was the trick. We love it, and it is more convinience due to moveablity to any corner that we want. We love it.
