Gotta admit, I had serious doubts this would actually spray un-thinned exterior latex paint. It comes with a viscosity cup which all but confirmed to me I would have to thin the paint. But with zero instruction on using the cup or what max flow time was permissible, I opted to only add Flood brand Floetrol (which I do anyway) and spray away.
I went right for the largest spray tip figuring it wouldn't work anyway. It actually worked great. In fact, because it was sputtering, I switched down two sizes in tips. It still lightly sputtered, but otherwise worked great. Probably the second largest size (the one it came installed with) would have been the best option. I'll try it next time.
Finally, a HVLP sprayer that actually sprays unthinned, thick latex paint! Not sure how it'd do without the Floetrol (which does reduce viscosity some), but I use it even for rolling (highly recommend it). While I'll still use my graco for big jobs, like the main house paint, I'll definitely use this for smaller jobs like accent color on gable ends, and most likely all interior painting.
But the absolute best part? The clean up! Oh my gosh, so easy. I hate using my graco just for that reason alone. But this can be cleaned up in just minutes, and without wasting a pint of paint trapped in the hose and pump of an airless, or the diluted mess of trying to save it.. I probably wouldn't use this for painting anything requiring precision, fine spray (like autos) but def my new favorite way to paint small to medium jobs. Awesome product Vevor.
