Does not hold prime. It's OK. But it will be replaced by next year. I got 3 months use out of it.

This pump came one day early and was very easy to hook up and plumb. As other reviews have indicated you have to have a tight vacuum seal for this to prime. It doesn’t have the same suction power as my previous Hayward which was struck by lightning. But hopefully I’ll get some mileage out of this one. So far everything is as I would hope.

easy to install. It is a 1 1/2 inch in and out for the union joints. Electricity is already wired up for a 110 v outlet and if you want to wire 220 just put your two 110v lines where the 110vac lines are already and switch the switch to 240 VAC , If you don’t know anything about electricity please have an electrician do it. Very nice product for the money.

I needed something fast to replace a more expensive pump that locked up on me. This pump works just as well and several hundred dollars cheaper than replacing it with the model I had previously. Thinking of buying another as a back up.

This motor/pump has a low price and that is why I bought it. Question was, would it perform as expected because it was considerably smaller and lighter than the pump it replaced? The answer is YES. It's been 1 month since I installed it and it is working great. Another advantage is that it comes wired .... no hard wiring is necessary. It plugs right into the correct outlet. I

This is my second one of these pool pumps. The first one I had ran every day for six hours for a little over six years. That one was a direct replacement for one of the most popular most expensive brands on the market.The bearings on that unit started to make noise and reading other reviews they seemed like a common replacement item. After watching videos on how it was done, I decided it was much easier and less frustrating than tearing apart the old one to replace seals and bearings to just buy a new one.Although the price went up in the last six years, it was still considerably less expensive than other brands. With that reliability, and for that price, it was a easy decision for me. The dimensions of the unit made it ideal for a direct replacement on both pumps that I purchased. The quick callers on this unit make it so simple so that you do not have to use any of the pipe cement or a hacksaw to remove the old one.

Happy so far. This is the second pump I've purchased in a year. Went with a 1.5 instead of 1.0. Hopefully this one lasts and I don't have to replace it again next summer! If I do I'll go with a different brand.
