Heavy duty!
This review is for: VEVOR 1/2 HP Sump Pump,3960 GPH Cast Iron Submersible Sewage Pump (1/2 HP)I was struck by the weight of this thing. It is cast iron and it feels like it when you try to carry it!We set this up as a back-up sump pump in case the current sump breaks or the float gets stuck. The instructions are good. It it super easy to take out of the box, assemble and install. We attached this to a battery back-up system so if we lose power, the battery backup will power it.I also have a couple other things that I would recommend to anyone counting on a sump pump... a sump pump alert system which does two things.... senses if water overflows the sump pit and it detects energy being used so if a sump pump starts to run continuously (maybe a stuck float) or if you lose power, it will notify you on your phone. The other thing I did was set up a camera on my sump pit so I can look at it whenever I want to (it's in the crawl space, so not easily accessible).Glad to have the piece of mind this back-up sump pump is providing. It seems like terrific quality. The price seems very reasonable.Hope this was helpful.

Use confusing
I bought this unit to pump water from a sump pit when needed. The instructions say it is for effluent use only and NOT to pump clear water from sump pits. The original add did say you could install to pump water out of a basement. I’m just a little confused about its actual usage. I will be using this as a standby pump as I’ve had water in my basement in the past.

Heavy Duty
I can confirm that the pump is cast iron. A half horsepower is plenty of throw and can push even solids as high as 30 feet. The cables are all included with the option of powering the activation float in a piggyback configuration or as a stand-alone power supply. If you use this for a Dosing Tank, you'll not have to worry about any solids that might make their way into the tank, this pump can handle it.

Excellent Submersible Sump Pump
I have a small basement (originally a coal storage room and boiler room) in my old commercial office building. The stairs leading to it are right next to a north external door that isn’t as well-sealed at the bottom as it should be (the threshold weather-stripping is gone). A super cold wintry blast over an extended period of time ended up freezing a copper pipe fitting at the base of those stairs. Needless to say, the small basement flooded when things thawed. The pedestal sump pump was overwhelmed and ended up being over four feet underwater. I pumped out most of the water with a portable sump pump hooked to a garden hose over a period of days. I then installed this submersible pump. There were still about four inches of water in the basement. As soon as I plugged it in it kicked into action and started the process of pumping out the remaining water. The water was muddy because this basement is connected to a crawlspace around the building which leaking water had run a lot of dirt from the crawlspace into the basement. I watched as the muddy water swirled around the sump pump and was pumped outside the building.I went upstairs and came back down within about 20 minutes. All of the water that could freely flow to the sump was gone. It made short work of a couple thousand gallons of water.Amazon Vine sent this product to me for an honest unbiased review. Would I recommend it? Yes, this is a heavy-duty pump that fits into a small sump hole like mine in this building, and it moves lots of water rapidly.

High output sump pump
Our 10yr old sump pump started making some bad noises so I decided to replace it rather than try to restore it. This replacement one looks like a quality unit and I suspect it will last a long time. My only concern is the cast iron base. I'm not sure how well that will hold up to consistent submersion under water. I'll try and update this review in a year to see how it's doing.

Back up pump
I love the price of this sump pump for less than $150. The piece of mind of having a reliable pump will help you sleep better at night, especially during those bad rain storms.Mine is set up to back up my current sump pump. About 15 years ago I had a pump quit working in my ejector pit that was connected to my laundry tub and we couldn't do laundry until I changed it out. I can't imagine what it would of been like if my sump pit pump would of quit on me. That is why I have this back up.1/2 horse is good enough for a sump pit. The pump is made out of durable material. Unfortunately (or fortunately) , it's hard to rate its over performance for the long haul as a situation has not occurred where I have needed to use this. The product is UL backed which is important when using electrical equipment in the house becuase it got their seal of approval for safety and quality.

Great for draining my hot tub
Ordered this pump to speed up draining my hot tub. Attached a hose, plugged it in, and within 15 minutes, my 500ish gallon hot tub was empty. Couldn't be happier! Exactly what I needed and wanted!

Heavy duty!
This is nice because it is submersible. My last one burnt up because it was above ground.
