Roof Ice Dam
I used this Snow Melting Mat a bit unconventionally. We had a large ice dam on our roof and leaking inside. I laid the mat over the ice and although there was a 6" dam, the mat was able to melt a path for the water to escape. It worked like a champ!

Works great!
We use it on our side walks out front and it works amazing. Once you add up how much you spend in salt ,that you never have to use again, it's well worth its value

love this
We use this on our front porch as a runner to walk on to melt ice and snow and our guests so no falling down. Works great although we will have some small holes in our porch that came with the matt to secure it. Better than taking a spill!!!

I love the way that work!
I just put installed them and got a snow that next day. They work great!
no need to know no need to know
Haven't used it yet but the companies been responsive to questions
A bit premature since its Spring, but had an ice dam that caused a leak. I'm hoping this will solve a long running problem. I have high hopes that it will. Seems like a much better solution than the heating cables, ice pucks and ice hammering I did this year.

Heat mats did the job
Put these up with Christmas clips instead of screwing them in to roof before snow hit our area. Turned them on couple hours before snow started and they have kept the valleys clear of snow $ ice.

Great for people who can't shovel!
I live in NH, and we get snow. I also use crutches and have severe arthritis in my R hip and knee. It's really hard for me to shovel and I don't feel safe when it's slippery. Therefore, I love them. I can walk to the car without slipping and if I forget to turn them on and want to clear snow from them, it's a smooth, ez surface to clean. They are easy to assemble, easy to operate, and are very effective. The one thing I do need to watch for is water that settles on the mat and turns to ice. However, so far, it's only been small areas. And if I had to, I'd throw some snow melt crystals on that spot. I was dubious but after reading some reviews I took the risk. I am so glad I did. Thank you!

Works great!
I use this HeatTrak Outdoor heating mat to solve a problem I have with ice buildup at a particular spot on my concrete walkway between my home and a standalone garage. The mat does the trick well and I like it better than salting that area all the time. I purchased one 30" x 60" mat and I move it as needed to a couple of different adjacent locations to melt off a specific area.

Perfect for north facing walkway!
We have a north-facing house in Colorado. The walkway to the front door is a continual problem. It’s not unusual to have ice 2-3 inches thick as snow slowly melts from the roof, accumulates on concrete and then re-freezes. It’s an issue all winter and a significant safety issue. We’ve tried salt, chipping it away, etc. I bought one mat to see if it would address the problem and it’s worked beautifully! I plan to get two more to keep the full length of the walkway clear. I almost missed that I needed to order the cord to plug it in separately. Other than that, I’m excited to add more and have one less thing to worry about in the winter!

Thrilled with this system!
I live in Maryland so we usually don't get a tremendous amount of snow, but I have a cement back porch and short downhill cement walkway to my garage which never gets any sun. It is often slippery from ice or snow. I set up two of these mats and one step mat and plugged it in and turned it on before our first of two snows and it worked beautifully to keep the step and walkway free of show and ice. Since I only use two mats and 1 step mat, it is easy to store them in my garage until before the next ice or snow event. (The crazy weather in Maryland in winter can run from beautiful sunny 45 degree days to single digits during the night) It works perfectly for my needs. It is a bit expensive, but I find at my age the peace of mind of not having to shovel and chip away at this area (or worry about slipping) is worth every penny. I just purchased these items in January and have used them for two snows (a four inch and a six inch) as well as an icing overnight event and it has worked just as promised. I will send a follow up review if there are any problems in the future. P.S. I found the set up to be very easy. Be sure to buy the power cord and I bought the long extension cord as well. I opened the packages inside my house and let everything "rest" at room temperature so mats laid flat.
