I bought Heat Ttrak snow melting stair treads about 10 years ago for my back stone porch. Being on the north side of the house the three steps and landing do not melt so quickly and very dangerous with ice. I don't have mats to cover all the porch just where needed. I leave them on when I know snow is coming and they are always melted allowing our dogs to go down the steps if I didn't shovel yet. I bought three more treads because the one wasn't working so I'll keep the others as backup or hook them together to cover more surface.

I bought these because we have steps leading to our patio that are constantly used. In the winter there are gutters that always ice dam and drip water on the steps which then freezes and becomes treacherous. I got tired of salting due to the environment and decided to try these. This is the first year I have had them out, I connected 5 of them, they were easy to connect and easy to setup. So far they are working perfectly. They are slightly warm to the touch and no ice or snow comes anywhere near them. I plugged them in at the beginning of the season and have forgotten about them. A great idea. Hopefully they will last for many years. Great product!

I’ve had them since 2018 and They work great. I have them connected to a remote control and when I know ani is coming I turn them on and never have to worry about the stairs. Now if only they made one for the driveway. That would be awesome!

Put two mats in 2 valleys on the north side of the roof that have been getting ice build up. Well packaged, look like they are built sturdy, easy install (nice roof screw hardware included, white marks where to screw them in). Melted through 8" of snow in about 1 hour.

We haven't used it yet so I might update the review if there are issues over the winter. But installing this was easy. Directions are clear. It's not too hard to maneuver once you get it unrolled. Took maybe ten minutes.

This product has solved a difficult dormer drip/valley convergence spot that has been causing me winter/spring ceiling leaks for the past five years due to ice dam buildup (an apparently long standing issue for the previous owners as well, evidenced by attempted repairs). Two experienced builders could not solve the issue with additional flashing/caulking/changing the roofline and this product is much less expensive than those efforts or a metal roof. I don't normally write reviews but made the exception in this case as the product works so well I ordered a second one for another problem spot. Thanks, Kevin and team! So I don’t write product reviews. But I love this product. So I have tried everything to address My ice dams, nothing has worked. This has been a horrible winter. I was able to use the mat’s to actually melt the ice dam so I could install them!!!! Just a great product, easy to install and just works!

Had a huge ice dam in the valley between two peaks. This mat took care of it completely but did take quite a few days to slowly melt it away in colder weather. Pro tip, hang it over the edge of your dam so you melt outside in. My first attempt resulted in a nice pool of water in the valley since there was enough ice around the water that it couldn't drain. :-) Super easy to use, not horribly expensive. I'd buy it again.

I bought this for my parents to help with an area near a downspout at their front walk that always develops ice. I was able to order the exact length I needed and the mat worked perfectly to keep this area under the downspout free of ice. I haven't asked my parents if they noticed a significant increase in their electric bill from leaving this on almost all winter, but they haven't complained, so I do not expect that it sucks down too much energy.

Honestly, and I try SO hard to give legitimate "user" reports, I can not report on this product YET! Blame,(or bless) ma nature, but the precipitation levels have not allowed an HONEST evaluation! ASK AGAIN! When winter does appear. I WILL be honest!
