This little furnace works great! Just got to test it out today. Heats up fast. Easy to setup. Has everything you except for propane and ppe. The video for setup was nice to have. Watched it twice, then setup furnace. Had setup in couple of minutes. Handling the furnace and crucible took a minute to find a good way to use tongs but now that I learned a good way it’s pretty easy. Crucible stuck to fire brick once, not sure if that was just from being new but it did eventually fall off. Started with some cans then threw in some piece of aluminum valves. They melted down in couple of minutes. I will have to work on pouring the liquid metal without the slag falling out of the crucible too. I just used some cheap muffin tins as molds. It worked but wasn’t easy getting them out. Will have to find a real mold. But for the test runs the tins did work. All in all worked better than I expected. I’m looking forward to more work with the furnace and hopefully doing some copper and brass too.

Overall this is a great starter furnace at an excellent value for the money. Highly recommended for those who wish to do casting of nonferrous metals as a hobby or on an occasional basis.

All in all, I would recommend this to anyone who is considering getting into melting metals that need higher temperatures. Though I have not tried to melt copper yet.

I got a great deal on this unit and decided to try it. I've had it for several months now but finally got around to breaking it in and melted about 60 cans the other night. It lit and ran good, took a bit to get the gas on the bottle, the control on the propane hose and the air adjustment on the furnace adjusted right, but once I did it made short work of the cans. You will want a spoon of some sort with a decent length handle to get rid of the dross that forms from the paint and crap on the cans. My crucible also didn't have a pour spout and I learned I should have filed one because I poured a lot of the aluminum on the ground, lol. oh well, first time trying anything like this and had a great time, can't wait to do more.

Overall, very satisfied. I encourage those that grab one of these to observe all safety protocols. Motlen metal at 2000 F is not something to start without having done a fair amount of research and some experience really useful.

I just did my first melt ever with this furnace and the included gear. It was an awesome success. I didn't do anything fancy, but as my first melt and pour I don't know how it could have gone better. I would definitely recommend watching the linked video in the item description, as it really helps you learn about the product and how to properly fit everything together. It's very straight forward, but the need for thread tape is worth noting. Controlling the airflow is an important piece that may not be as obvious either.

Really good product, tremendous customer service

Picked this up for my son who wanted to try his hand at smelting aluminum cans. Product arrived very quickly and well packaged. Assembly was very straight forward and well documented in the instructions. We were fired up in less than 15 minutes. This thing generates some heat! In about an hour my son had almost a pound of aluminum ingots cooling in the ice water bath. Those cans didn't stand a chance. I was a little concerned at the start that we wouldn't have enough propane but with the supplied regulator it was easy to control the propane usage. Overall I would say this is a great kit to get started in forging. Easy to use and well made!

Easy to setup - really easy to use - great furnace!

Great product I’ve wanted to smelt for a long time and I’m glad I got started with this furnace. So far I’ve only done aluminum. I highly recommend safety gear like gloves, face shield, apron, and even good boots and FR clothing I use FR jeans and long sleeves to if the flame jumps I don’t get burned.
