***UPDATE*** I absolutely love this distiller cause now i dont have to spend money on water for my cpap machine. It takes about 4hrs for 1 gal but it saves on money. Its also very easy to use. Also once I used it for the first time and cleaned it the smell went away.Ok I bought this item cause I can never find distilled water anymore. Well it's easy to assemble and everything but the smell is terrible and when I remove the lid it's almost as it burnt water is on the bottom or even white stains or some kind of residue I can't get off. I used it twice to test it and clean it before I actually use the water I make. Am I doing something wrong?? Is it supposed to have that smell?? I will change my rating if the smell ever goes away and what not

We have a park model in AZ with a small humidifier and very hard water. This still turns out a gallon of distilled water a day to keep the humidifier running at night. The only drawbacks are, one of the manuals supplied is in fractured English ( it calls citric acid 'detergent') and the unit is somewhat noisy, so I have it running on a table outside. Otherwise, works as advertised.

We are unable to find distilled water consistently anymore. Being able to make our own has made life simpler. The machine is easy to use but quite large. I store it in the bathroom linen closet and pull it out to make a batch then put it away again.

I love the idea of being able to make my own distilled water. I rinse my sinuses daily due t to a history of sinus infections and my daughter uses a humidifier at night so we always need some at our house. It seems to have become harder and harder to find it stocked in stores and this way we aren't dependant on anyone's supply.I found the directions lacking and even after careful readings I wound up talking to Amazon support (who were wonderful BTW) and watching some YouTube videos of similar models before I could get it assembled and start my first batch. I was very pleased with the results though and will definitely use it again.The lid to the dispenser isn't tight and makes it difficult to pour. I wish it screwed on instead of just sitting. I've got my water in a previously used plastic gallon water jug for now and have purchased a spout that I hope will fit it. Mostly my beef is with the lack of assembly directions and and inaccurate list of supposed contents. I would recommend but be ready to do some homework too get up to speed.

Needed this for my humidifiers. Very easy to use, no more white powder. Can brew a gallon every couple of hours. Easy to clean. Perfect!

Works like a champ.Yes the plastic collection bottle is plastic and it smells like plastic when you first get it. But a thorough clean and disinfect got rid of the smell without any issues.I got the adjustable heat version so that I could separate off the more volatile liquids just a tad easier.

It’s a smooth and easy to operate. I’m beyond impressed. So long it’s longevity holds up I’m good.

I bought this to have distilled water for my CPAP machine. My doctor thought it was a great idea to also use the water for my tea and for cooking. I set it up at night and it is ready in the morning.

This is the first distiller I've purchased. The instructions for getting started were OK but there was some confusion with a few things. They include accessories without explaining their use. For example, there are carbon filters in the bag. No idea what they're for. There is a metal piece that looks like a spout. It's actually used on the storage container when the machine is running. That isn't hard to figure out but not documented either. The first run I didn't use it.The manual mentions error codes and what to do when you see them. Some are marked if frequent discontinue use. That's a little concerning. I've run the machine about ten times including 2 cleaning cycles so far. I've gotten one error condition. I had done two runs quick and I think it overheated near the end of the second cycle. So, if you're planning to run this frequently, it might be a non-starter.There is a fair amount of fan noise. It doesn't bother me too much but you should be able to run it somewhere it's not going to be a problem. It seems to bother my cats a lot and they tend to leave the room when it's on. It's no worse than a fan on a gaming pc or enterprise network switch.I've been using this to distill water for a humidifier and for my wife's soap making hobby. It's been great for that purpose and saves me from having to get distilled water from the supermarket. I'd recommend this unit for light use.I think the manufacturer should do a little work on the instructions though. The cleaning section was very clear at least.
