The packaging should be improved. The plastic shield on the end of the motor was cracked during transit. I repaired it with duct tape.

Good hoist if you are mechanically inclined
The hoist works good but the assembly instructions are terrible. Does not tell you how to install the remote control box on the hoist. Also the screws used to attach the remote control box are too long.

Makes moving items to and from my attic easier
Easy to install and was ready to use right out of the box.The ability to purchase a spare wireless remote would be appreciated.

very well designed easy to handle
Took about 30 minutes to install in my garage. Turned it on to check its working condition. The hoist showed it was on but the remote didn’t work. I found that the batteries that came with it were dead. Put new batteries in the remote and it worked like a charm. Can’t comment on lifting ability as I have not had the opportunity to lift anything yet.

Very nice and easy to use.
I have this winch mounted in my attic and the cable runs down through the sheetrock. Those metal brackets on the top aren't good for much because they are small. The mounting holes are metric nuts welded into place. I bought four big bolts and ran them through two- eight foot 4x4's and mounted it in the attic. I made a little "picture frame" to trim off the sheetrock where the cables comes down. It does what I need.

Works
The remote works great. The hoist lifts and lowers. The cable on mine had a couple of ugly spots. The control box mounting on the hoist could be better. If it only had a guide for the cable when it wound then it would be the ultimate budget hoist. Didn't test it to its full lifting capacity, but lifting 200 pounds at 20 feet on single strand it did just fine.

As expected
The hoist came on time, packaged pretty well, and there were instructions in the box, although I don’t know what they are for because it’s a real stretch to consider them appropriate for this hoist. The biggest issue the home user will run into is where to mount the control box, especially if the hoist is mounted on a trolley as mine is. The hoist has good power, acceptable noise levels, and smooth and quite fine operation. I thought the wireless remote was hokey upon opening the package, but after using it I love it. This remote is probably one off the best wireless remotes (for any product) that has ever come out of China. Simple, great range, works no matter what it’s pointing at. My hoist is on an 70’ track going from near the front of my building to near the back. And I never have problems with the remote. The big problem is the cable, which needs a take-up guide. The wire rope was hastily installed during production and came with many flaws and kinks. It will not take-up or hold/park without memory mayhem. I will probably replace it soon, maybe with synthetic rope as with 12’ interior height I only need 1/2 of the supplied length. I carefully hand guide it during take-up, and hang a weight on it to keep it cooperating for next time I need it.
