Works great on my RV hose.
Works great on my RV hose line. I bought a heavy duty water supply line, wrapped it in foil tape, then secured the heat tape to the hose, and finally wrapped everything in foam insulation. It has kept the water flowing at temperatures down to 20F.

Wonderful!
Used this on a main water feed pipe running to a garage apartment on an outside uninsulated wall. Saved the pipe during these crazy cold days in Georgia.

Worked great all winter
I have this wrapped around an outdoor 1/2" pex line coming from a rainwater collection system. The water in the tanks froze solid, but the pex line didn't bulge or split, so this is clearly doing its job.

Great for Chicago winters
I coil these up around my outdoor spigot in the harsh Chicago winters, so I can still get water to the goats, keeps spigot from freezing up even though they "frost free" spigot, they still do without these

Important to have!
This is an absolute MUST HAVE, if you own an RV. If you plan on traveling somewhere that is cold, trust me...You need this!! We wee fairly new to the RV scene and we took a trip to Missouri. Woke up the next morning and every pipe was frozen :(. The manager of our RV park told us about this. Two days later we got home and I ordered this immediately!! Works fantastic!

Looks like a technically appropriate electrical device.
I am supposed to write a review, but I cannot write a meaningful review until we are well into the freezing weather period. The wiring looks to be technically appropriate and the instructions are clear and emphasize the need to use caution. I have a set of hot and cold water pipes that go from the basement to a second floor bathroom. They tend to freeze at least once a year, even though insulation was added a couple of years ago. They go up an outside wall. There is an area at which I can have access, above the basement. I am hoping that this will safely generate sufficient heat to avoid a freeze. I will update this review if the pipes freeze or when we are beyond the freezing period.

Perfect for warming pipes
This works great on the water pipes on my food truck during the cold months. It’s very easy to use you simply wrap it around the pipes I would say you wanna give the pipes about a finger length in between each wrap and then you plug it up into your extension cord or directly to your generator and it heats up after about 30 minutes or so and it keeps the pipes warm all night long so that your pipes don’t freeze. Make sure to measure your pipes so that you can choose the right length of cord. Do you want to have enough cord to cover the pipe as well as enough cord to reach where it is that you’re going to plug it into.

It works for chickens.
I don't use these as most people most likely do. I use it to work in tandem with a heat lamp in the winter to keep the auto watering system flowing for my chickens. The lamp keeps the cups thawed and the cable helps keep water moving down the pipe.
