Quality seems well made. Haven't use it yet but did machine my own adapter plate. Remember you have to either buy a plate or make your own. I bought mine to upgrade my Metal lathe from a 4" chuck to 6". I made a plate that adapts the spindle adapter from my 4" chuck to the 6" chuck. That way, I didn't have to worry about the threaded spindle hub. I'm not sure why it is advertised as a wood turning chuck. I guess it could be used on a wood lathe but this is a chuck for a metal lathe. I am a Journeyman Machinist so I know what I'm looking at. Some adapter plates are available on grizzl, I found

ease of mounting on my rotary table. I recommend disassemble and cleaning and lubricate before use as my experience with most machinery from China is not cleaned of machining grit

Excellent product for the price and what I am using it for (welding positioner). Wouldn't use it where precision machining is required.

works just great! i needed a way to turn long pieces. i made a bearing mount to hold it in the tail stock. it is the right size to fit and pleanty big enough to hold what ever i need.

Would have given the product a much higher score, except for the item having arrived with the wrong size key (10 mm). The chuck's key socket is 8 mm. Contacted VEVOR, and they said that because the item was sold through Amazon that I should contact Amazon. So, let's see where that leads. Or do I just keep and modify the key to fit the socket? This is the problem with global marketplaces and supply chains. It just doesn't work for the individual.

seems well balanced easy to use .I also bought the auto centering 4 jaw the other day can not wait to use it.I would reamend the vevor wood lathe checks to any one i talk to.

So, I have the 7x14 lathe with a 3 inch chuck. The through hole for the small chuck really limits things. This 5 inch with the adapted plate from little machine shop worked perfectly. I haven’t checked the runout yet, but it is very small and well within what I needed. Overall a great addition to my small lathe.

Could not find a 1 1/2" x 8" adapter for this 5 inch chuck from this manufacturer.
