For the price, absolutely can't be beat, without getting lucky second hand, gear plate was a little rough, it binds up a little in a couple spots, but for the price it's functional and pretty much dead on for true.
I bought the 10 inch and its good runout is good one piece body the only iffy is the plastic cover on the back for the ring gear cover but it seals good with the plastic so maybe not a fault ?
I added this to my 1939 Craftsman Lathe. My original piece was out. This bolted Right on with the adapter piece and has been straight since I put it on. It works and fit great!
Love these jaws on my mini wood lathe! The only consideration I’d note is that when putting the teeth in or when switching them out, you may need to do a little more trouble shooting that you’d expect, and they need to be perfectly alligned to self- center.
I ordered this for my other half as he wanted it for our jumpring cutting business. He is so far pleased with the results. His first use was to mill a new arbor for his cutting system. His said he was glad that he did some research before ordering and found out he needed to order a backing plate adapter, so you might want to keep that in mind if you order it.
