Reflow Oven works pretty well
Great little oven for leaded solder. It works and gets boards done. It's small on the outside but good enough to fit a few boards at once if they're not giant. Press one button, wait 7 minutes, out come boards. I can't vouch for fancy lead free solders, obviously this isn't for production but nice to make a batch right after your first board is assembled and tested

Research the issues before you purchase - with modifications this is a great machine!
Anyone thinking of purchasing this should research the interwebs for the pros & cons so you know what you're getting. If you do decide to purchase it I STRONGLY recommend completing the modifications as it will make the machine a whole lot better. I ran the machine both before and after the mods - no question they NEED done!I give it 4 stars for a couple of reasons:- The makers know about the issues and have done nothing to improve the design and the major issues can be resolved for less than $10- Which is the other reason I give it 4 stars. Pretty cheap & easy to make it a really nice machine and if you're purchasing this you most likely have the skills, tools and knowledge to fix the problems.

Very happy for the good quality and performance (and no one paid me to say this!).
I was very impressed with this Reflow Oven. I had read and seen YouTube videos which were more than a bit negative. They provided information as to how to eliminate the smell, how to improve performance, etc. etc. But I just plugged it in and ran a couple of dry runs and observed that it did not smell anymore than a household kitchen oven when first turned on -- not much. I am an electronics engineer and needed an oven like this to build prototype surface mount boards. I loaded my 120mm square (4 3/4 inch) board with SMT parts, crossed my fingers, and ran the standard automated F1 temperature profile. All parts from very small to some large components (mostly1206) came out beautifully soldered. I am so glad I didn't listen to the OLD negativity. This company appears to keep improving their product and keeping the price down so that professionals and hobbyists can be successful. Thanks also to the supplier, who delivered the T962 on time when I was needing to quickly replace my hot air gun.

Great entry level machine
Great entry level machine. Super easy to mod to upgrade firmware. I recommend anyone that buys this looks into the mods that can be added.

Research first before you buy. Good unit for the price.
Definitely do the Kapton tape rework for this unit (or any other unit that looks like this one but has a different seller name). After the rework, I have not had any issues with the smell.Things that annoys me:-The beeping once the batch is done. I will rip that speaker out one of these days.-The "stickiness" of the button. (I imagine that it's a software delay rather than something wrong with the hardware.)

Spacious
It's much bigger than the T-962 model, its heat output capacity also allows for a more uniform solder distribution for large PCB brd dimension

It works, kinda.
I tuned the profile to work with lead free solder. Attached is my profile. Tested one board at a time. None of the default profiles worked with my lead free solder. I got a good balance between solder reflow, and my connectors not getting too brown from getting baked.I then loaded up the oven with 12 boards, and none of them reflowed properly. I was able to save them by reflowing the boards in smaller batches, but the fact that the oven's ability to reflow is sensitive to the number of boards is not good. Also, the "done" buzzer is very annoying and loud. This oven works, and if you need to make a few boards it will get the job done. If you need more than that, then you need to make some modifications or buy a more expensive oven.

Worked well for my purposes.
Greetings,Our company purchased this product when we found out the cost to have a small board assembled was on par - and actually exceeded - the cost of the board. We needed to solder a part which had several 0.725 mm x 0.522 mm (~ 0.029" x 0.021") pads to the board. The pads were on the bottom of the part, i.e., not visible. Challenging, to say the least. We were able to accomplish this successfully *without* a paste mask and without a pick-and-place (we're not necessarily advocating this - just full disclosure). As is said "....your mileage may vary."There were several other blurbs on the web about a foul smell being emitted from the oven on the first few times the oven is used due to masking tape (??!!!) being used internally. The suggested remedy was to replace the *all* of the masking tape with heat-resistant/proof Kapton tape (a bit pricey, but in this application well worth the costs), which we did *BEFORE* our initial use. We also reworked the ground connection, which really wasn't much of a connection due to the attachment point being covered in paint (an insulator) by sanding/scraping a small area under the nut/washer area down to bare metal. Again, this was done *BEFORE* even plugging in the oven. We placed our assemblies to be soldered on a scrap piece of FR-4 before initiating the soldering operation. So far, even with the above-mentioned small pad dimensions, we have a 100% success rate.We can not vouch for the temperature accuracy as we never measured temperatures. Also, due to the small size of our part there was no doubt that heat distribution would be uniform over the area being soldered.I have no comment on the quality control of the manufacturer in terms of unit-to-unit consistency; I can say that we are pleased with the performance of the oven in our application.JimRespireDX/Amalfi Acoustics, LLC
