Purchased 1 month ago. Rolled some arches the first day. Easy to use and accurate. I will use this roller a lot. It’s priced right and heavy duty. I do need to build a stand to hold it in place for larger projects.

Let me set expectations: this is a light-to-medium duty manual bender. It works great for aluminum, copper, and thin-wall mild steel tubing up to about 1-1/4" square. However, if you're trying to bend 1/4" wall steel or anything with significant wall thickness, you're going to struggle. I tried bending 1-1/2" x 1/2" rectangular tube with 3/16" wall and it was a real workout – the hand crank was very stiff and I could feel the frame flexing slightly. It got the job done but I wouldn't want to do it repeatedly.

I've been looking for an affordable slip roll bender for making decorative scrollwork and small brackets out of 1" square steel tubing. This unit exceeded my expectations for the price point. The cast iron frame feels heavy and stable once bolted to my workbench. I was able to put a nice consistent curve in 3/4" x 3/4" mild steel square tube without much effort on the hand crank. The rollers are machined well enough for my purposes – I'm not doing precision aerospace work here. One tip: make sure you adjust the top roller gradually and make multiple passes. Trying to get the full bend in one pass will just frustrate you. For the money, this is a solid buy for a home shop.

OK, this tool is not made to tight tolerances and I've never used one before. It's also much less expensive than others. First I had to add shims to the sides of the compression roller to reduce the angle of intersection with the tubing (contact point) a very simple fix. I also 3D printed a spacer to adjust the width of the rollers to keep them parallel and a shim to keep them aligned on the same plane. These could easily be made from wood. Once I did this my 22 half circle tubes came out uniformly the same and fit almost perfectly.
