Really a great value for an ultrasonic record cleaner, and as a bonus you can clean lots of other things besides records. Specialty record ultrasonic cleaners like the Humminguru or Degritter cost 2-20x as much as this, and can only clean records. This is a much better value to me, since I can also use it to clean electronics, jewelry, etc. This does an excellent job of cleaning both new and old records, and I'm always amazed by the amount of sediment that ends up in the tank after cleaning a batch of records. The only downside to this is the attachments for mounting records on the tank are a little awkward to use, and don't always stay in place. I've had a few instances where the screw that holds the record spindle to the motor came loose and fell off, or the nut and bolt that holds the height adjustments came loose, it's also awkward to adjust the height when there are records mounted. This is probably a side effect of this being a standard ultrasonic cleaner first, with the ability to mount and rotate records as an add-on. I think it's a worthwhile tradeoff for the price and extra versatility to clean things besides records. Lastly, this cleaner is rated for 40khz, while some of the much more expensive ultrasonic record cleaners are rated up to 60khz. I was a bit worried that this wouldn't be as effective of a cleaner, but after doing some research, there is a trade-off with higher power cleaners, they create smaller bubbles that in theory, can better get into the grooves of records, but smaller bubbles also create smaller cavitation, which is ultimately what does the loosening and cleaning of microscopic particles. And in practice, people that have compared the cleaning ability of lower and higher powered cleaners on records have not been able to tell any difference in the results, so I don't think that's something you need to worry about. I would highly recommend searching and reading "Precision Aqueous Cleaning of Vinyl Records" by Neil Antin for all the info you could possibly need on the subject. This is probably the most thorough study and write up on all wet cleaning methods for vinyl records, including ultrasonic cleaning. https://thevinylpress.com/precision-aqueous-cleaning-of-vinyl-records/
