It works! Don't over think it.
This product works. It's so much better than the little manual methods of brushing the vinyl off and so forth, but it does take a bit of research to figure out the best method, I watched several videos online. My daughter had a Stranger Things album that was literally unlistenable and that was our first test run; we sat down and listened to the whole album after it was cleaned - it's amazing. These brand new records come from the factory terribly dirty evidently; just imagine how dirty a 40 year old record is.Don't over think it. This is not rocket science. Get some distilled water, maybe four gallons for your first run (to clean the tank out, then another 1.5 gallons for your first batch, and some for a spray bottle for rinsing the records), some surfactant like TergiKleen which is on Amazon as well, and clean your records. Distilled water and a surfactant is all that is needed. No alcohol and no soap. Don't over think it.

Lifesaver for flood records
I have a huge record collection that was in a flood a few years ago. Most of the records literally have paper and dirt caked onto them.I also have a VPI 16.5 washer but I can't really use it for the really nasty records. Under the best of circumstances, it overheats after extended use and shuts off. Under the worst, I'd be constantly replacing brushes and felt pads if I tried to scrub down all these exceptionally filthy records with it.So I decided to have a go at this ultrasonic.Altogether, I'm very satisfied. It's not perfect but it's a huge help. It takes several passes for the extremely nasty records and even then it doesn't get them completely clean, but it gets them clean enough that I can use my VPI to finish them off.Remember: when I say extremely nasty, I mean EXTREMELY nasty. Maybe 2mm of paper that has somehow become glued onto the record and a bunch of river silt. This is stuff that isn't even coming off by soaking it in water for hours. After 2-3 30 minute passes in this thing, the solid crap is mostly gone and it just needs some scrubbing to remove the rest, then back in the ultrasonic for one more to get the last of the grime out.But how about records that aren't in such desperate shape? For those, nothing beats this washer. The VPI doesn't even come close. Many of these flood records are just loaded with small dirt particles that are just too small for the VPI brush and vacuum to get out. Even after several passes on the VPI, they still sounded extremely noisy. I've found that for these, I can skip the VPI entirely and just use the ultrasonic, and they come out sounding nearly new. It also doesn't hurt that I can do 8 at a time and leave it unattended for the whole cleaning cycle, then just take them off to dry. With the VPI, I have to do all the cleaning by hand and it's a much more manual process, so I can't do anything else when I'm washing records with it.And now some more neutral-to-negative observations. It's noisy. Works as described.
Missing a few minor parts, so I spent the first hour looking for two suitable screws and a washer. Everything works well. That is, the heater heats, the record spins and the ultrasound seems to work. My record was held at the correct height for cleaning. You'll need to fashion a lid or take the record spinner off after each use as the supplied lid will not fit when the record spinner is attached. I made a lid out of plexiglass that works great. I won't comment on how well it cleans as I believe I have more to learn regarding its use, but I'm optimistic it will do the job and I would recommend it.

Made all the difference to me.
I was not expecting much! but since it was not expensive as other methods, I give it a try. This made all the difference to me. It made old records unplayable, enjoyable again (records that I completely give up and was about to throw away). And remove clicks and pops of newer records making them almost silent (not always perfect but a huge difference)This machine will not fix scratches (off course), but it will remove all dirt that does not come out with other cleaning methods. I'm using only distilled water and I'm cleaning the records for 10 mins at room temperature (I don't heat the water to the 40 degrees setting in the cleaner). I do another 10 to 15 if the record is too dirty but that has been the exception more than the rule. Most records will be cleaned after 10 mins.I now swear by it and my friends who have brought their records for cleaning now swear by it too. I'm sure there is even better methods but this is fast, convenient and very effective. I'm just hopping that the machine last a long time. Only time will tell

Ridiculous Value
I got this bad boy shipped for $185. Had always wanted to try ultra sonic cleaning but always held back due to $$$Works exactly as described. Inherited a filthy collection form a diseased relative and this unit brought his collection back to its former glory.10/10

Really a great value for an ultrasonic record cleaner, and as a bonus you can clean lots of other things besides records. Specialty record ultrasonic cleaners like the Humminguru or Degritter cost 2-20x as much as this, and can only clean records. This is a much better value to me, since I can also use it to clean electronics, jewelry, etc. This does an excellent job of cleaning both new and old records, and I'm always amazed by the amount of sediment that ends up in the tank after cleaning a batch of records. The only downside to this is the attachments for mounting records on the tank are a little awkward to use, and don't always stay in place. I've had a few instances where the screw that holds the record spindle to the motor came loose and fell off, or the nut and bolt that holds the height adjustments came loose, it's also awkward to adjust the height when there are records mounted. This is probably a side effect of this being a standard ultrasonic cleaner first, with the ability to mount and rotate records as an add-on. I think it's a worthwhile tradeoff for the price and extra versatility to clean things besides records. Lastly, this cleaner is rated for 40khz, while some of the much more expensive ultrasonic record cleaners are rated up to 60khz. I was a bit worried that this wouldn't be as effective of a cleaner, but after doing some research, there is a trade-off with higher power cleaners, they create smaller bubbles that in theory, can better get into the grooves of records, but smaller bubbles also create smaller cavitation, which is ultimately what does the loosening and cleaning of microscopic particles. And in practice, people that have compared the cleaning ability of lower and higher powered cleaners on records have not been able to tell any difference in the results, so I don't think that's something you need to worry about. I would highly recommend searching and reading "Precision Aqueous Cleaning of Vinyl Records" by Neil Antin for all the info you could possibly need on the subject. This is probably the most thorough study and write up on all wet cleaning methods for vinyl records, including ultrasonic cleaning. https://thevinylpress.com/precision-aqueous-cleaning-of-vinyl-records/

Cleans my old records well.
Ultrasonic cleaning makes a huge difference on old vinyl. It brings back the rich sound. I highly recommend this to anyone who has a lot of old vinyl. I have cleaned almost 600 records with this and have had no issues. I found that it works best if you only do 2 to 3 records at a time. Yes, it is loud. But I put it in another room and close the door. This is a great value.

Up to eight records at a time.
After years in storage I have hundreds of dusty gems that need cleaning. I started with a popular manual cleaner that is effective but much too slow to my liking. I came across this ultrasonic machine that does eight records at one time. I modified it by connecting an aquarium filter and pump to keep the water clean longer. Now I'm making progress! Ultrasonic is the way to go and this machine seems up to the task at hand. The versatile temperature and timer are a great plus. If you're reading this, yes, you need one.
