It works very well

I was able to cut the scales to size for a Seig Mini Mill with a bandsaw for the aluminum and a dremel with a glass etching bit to etch the glass scale for a clean break- I watched videos of this on youtube prior to purchasing. This has made using the mini-mill much more fast and accurate, and for the price cannot be beat. Of note, the scales and the monitor came from two different warehouses several days apart.

Literally nothing bad to say about this DRO. The LED screen is much easier to read vs traditional digital number type. Tons of features like error compensation etc. make it that much nicer. Physically the unit feels very solid. The numbers are red until you move an axis and then they turn black, they aren't red all the time. I bought a 3 axis for my mill and my friends who handled it are buying also.

The unit and scales appear to be well built. After installation, the read out powered up and worked as expected. The manual indicates it has some rather advanced features. The installation hardware is worthless, plan on fabbing your own, none of the brackets fit. The price was right, my prior employer had a similar unit installed on a lathe 2 years ago and it still works flawless. I'd recommend it, just understand you will spend 8 hours building brackets and installing it on your machine.

It works to my expectations and I like it. I did cut the glass scales to a custom length for my application and all went well. The price made this affordable.

Supplied brackets worked perfectly on my Bridgeport. There is a small amount of side-to-side play in the slides, which is needed. The sliders have hex shaped indentations which work very well for nuts, and the holes are threaded. There is not a single extra nut or bolt, and in modifying the mounts I had to pick up some extra metric screws. The long armored cables and plastic readout cover will ensure long life in the shop environment. I've had some trouble with the instructions, particularly the "half" command and in setting the + vs - direction of movement, but otherwise a very good purchase so far. Low-price, good-quality products like this are why the Chinese are eating our lunch.

This DRO is great. As a mater of fact it's so great I bought 3 of them. A 2 axis, 3 axis and a 5 axis. I would buy more if I had more machines. Beast Price anywhere.
