Working with mostly hard woods and getting good results. Well worth the money.

I have used this tool on a lot of boards, mostly on a trunk of a maple tree I fell last summer. It leaves a very smooth surface. The price was great and it seems to be a great tool so far.

Shipping was fast and when I opened the box I found all the packages holding the washers screws and other small parts had opened during shipping I guess. These small items were everywhere. In the box, in the machine. It was very frustrating. All the small parts need to be put in a small box with the planer. I finally retrieved all the washers, screws, nuts and bolts I needed to put the machine together. The stand is actually too short. I need to add wood feet to bring it up to the height it needs to be. After all that has been said. I sat the planer on a table in my garage for the time being and it planes beautifully. I am now making a coffee table and end tables for my wife and the planer helps to make the job easier, due to not having to sand the wood and each piece of wood has been planed to the same thickness. Love the machine and would definitely recommend to a friend.

Should do the job for my hobby shop. Have used it without a problem so far. Good tool for the price. Have made quite a pile of shavings so far.

First off fantastic unit. Assembling the base took about an hour, the instructions were piss poor for telling what went where. Aside from that I tried it out on a two inch slab of curly maple. It couldn't do a full turn off the handle when attempting to plane. It stalled out and popped the breaker that was built in. Half turn and it seemed happy enough. DeWalts planer can handle a full turn on this kind of wood but costs a lot more. This unit functions does the job is quieter then the DeWalt version and has a dust port that can be hooked up to a shop vac with a fernco adapter from home Depot in the plumbing section. All in all I'm not dissatisfied with the unit. Other major draw back was a 13" peice won't go threw. Gas a cutting board that got stuck in the middle and had to save down the sides just a little bit.

I purchased this item for a young carpenter doing work for me at my house. It is in exchange for some of his labor. He has nothing but praise for this planer. He said it is an excellent planer. The weight with stand makes it conveniently portable to job sites. The planed wood comes out smooth and even from one end to the other. He is excited to have it and to produce quality products with it.
