Awesome product
Our two dogs love the warm, no slip tread heaters, and do we, no need to shovel or try to chip ice away

Heat Trak
When it snows, we cannot get out our main entry door. Sometimes we have to go out the back door and walk around to shovel so we can get in/out. Then it is still slippery. So I purchased Heat Trak HR-2060, HRP (power cord) and HR therm3550 (automatic thermostat). I even had a plug installed near the mat with a "bubble" to help keep the plug dry. The plugs on each end can be a problem in positioning. However, I put the 20 x 60 mat across the deck at my side door and it's fine. There's room to add more later without causing people to trip on the cords (which can be an issue in positioning). Heat Trak suggests using an ice pack to test the mat and it works. It's finally getting below 35 this week, so I'll find out how well it works. Looking forward to one small area that won't need shoveling!

Just the best product ever!!!! (For dealing with ice)
So I don’t write product reviews. But I love this product. So I have tried everything to address My ice dams, nothing has worked. This has been a horrible winter. I was able to use the mat’s to actually melt the ice dam so I could install them!!!! Just a great product, easy to install and just works!

80 Watts Each
Each mat uses about 80 watts of electricity. Not very much but it does melt the snow and ice. I did reorder larger mats. I needed wider ones for my stairs. I’m in MN and it’s -5 and still working. Just had a blizzard. Did great.

Sturdy
Absolutely love this product. My sister had recommended this to me who lives in Colorado and I live in Minnesota so you know we get plenty of ice and snow. When it gets below zero it doesn't keep it entirely clear but the ice is able to be removed easily because it is not frozen solid. The water dripping from the roof evaporates. Living where we do, I can't expect any better. Love it, love it.

The only thing that solved a dangerous problem for us!
We live at the bottom of a hill in New England, and the melting run-off and piles from the snow plows can create a really dangerous icy barrier to the main entrance to our house. These are the only things -- and I've tried basically all of them over 20+ years -- that have ever worked. Plus, less salt in your yard and on pet paws. These are warm, not hot, to the touch (I've seen cats lounging on ours), so very safe. They also don't seem to run up the power bill too badly, but I do try to unplug them when they're not needed. They melt snow at a good rate; in a blizzard they may get covered for a while, but they'll melt it off pretty soon. Plus, it's a wonderful luxury not to have to shovel the back walk. These are solidly made, which is why they're not cheap. I'd suggest comparing it to what you pay for salt or ice melt in the winter. If you're somewhere where that's chump change, these probably aren't worth it for you. But in Connecticut, it totally is. Not to mention that snow shoveling is a major cause of heart attacks and back problems, so what's that worth?

VERY GOOD
This has kept every bit of ice and snow off the little porch and ramp for our little dogs. The only problem (and it's not really a problem but for our old dog its an issue) is the water at the bottom of our ramp pools there because of the snow and ice melting off the ramp and then it froze in a big ice patch at the bottom of the ramp. We will add an additional melt pad next year for the bottom of the ramp so the water dissipates off to the sides of the bottom pad. If we didn't have the ramp we wouldn't have the problem. So if you are using it on a ramp you will need to address the bottom of the ramp for the water build up which will freeze on the ground at the bottom of the ramp. We LOVE These and WILL BUY MORE!!!! They are pricy but worth it. THEY WORK VERY WELL.

Works great!
We use it on our side walks out front and it works amazing. Once you add up how much you spend in salt ,that you never have to use again, it's well worth its value

Melts snow & ice like promised
I received the HeatTrak snow/ice melting mat just in time for our first big snowfall of the year. As promised it melted the snow/ice quickly. We have a dangerous spot on the sidewalk close to our front door where the sun never hits and the snow slides off the roof. My husband and I are both in our 80's and could no longer keep up with keeping that particular spot clear. I was amazed how quickly it melted the snow that slid off the roof. I am only sorry I didn't know about this product years ago. I was concerned about the price but is much cheaper than an ER visit or a law suit. I highly recommend this product.
