I was a bit worry about buying this Tig welding machine. But now that I've been using the welderit is a great quality is very much worth the cost.

I recently brought this welder over to a friends because he was dubious it was as good as I was describing it. We took a 50' extension cord out to the steel scrap pile, took out some smaller 7018 rods and started welding at 90A. After burning through several rods, and successfully joining several pieces of totally unprepared scrap we tried some tig brazing and it worked great too.My friend went inside and ordered a unit for himself.I used to recommend gas tanks when people asked me what to get for a first welding setup but now I recommend this unit.It welds automotive sheet metal beautifully with almost no clean up. If you spend even a little time prepping your welds this can give you great results. It comes with a 1/6 tungsten holder and tungsten which is good for sheet metal, but if you need to weld anything thicker, you will need to get a (quite inexpensive) set of larger collets and cups. The consumables for this unit are readily available and inexpensive.Of course this machine does not perform miracles, but if you can weld or are willing to learn this machine will hold up it's part.The machine is DC so it will not weld aluminum and it has HF starting so no scratching necessary.

still making friends with it. i am rel new to tig but after watching couple videos onsetup the fun has started.

Some of us will have power issues, 220VAC outlets (particularly NEMA L6-30) are hard to find here in the USA. In this case, it's suggested to "swap the plug". Okay, great, how do you do that? This review lost a star because there is no discussion of this subject in the (skimpy) owner's manual.This machine's main power cord has three wires inside: one is blue, one is brown, and one is yellow/green. I went and researched the subject, this unit is wired by EUROPEAN standards, which say: blue = common, brown=hot, yellow/green=ground. I'm gonna go try that in a 110VAC outlet, will let you all know what happens (if I don't hurt myself, that is!).

Missing tig components. Great communication by seller to rectify the situation. Good little welder overall. Haven't used tig yet but arc works fine. No real complaints for being the cheapest welder on Amazon.

An outstanding welder for the price. I have been welding for over 40 years and as a home unit for hobby projects, this 200 amp welder certainly does the job. very light + versatile. Just plug into 110V or 220V and go. I have no negatives so far. But for $199 it's worth considering.

ive been a professional welder / fabricator for over 40 years. this little machine is unbelievable for the price. welds with a stable arc on tig or stick. its not an ac/dc so i dont know why they mention aluminum welding with it. ive never attempted to weld aluminum with a dc machine.i suppose you could dirt dobber it with dc. i will try it.
