I ordered this vevor 3.75" 4 jaw wood chuck in late 2022, mine was well balanced & holds my workpiece much tighter than my old lathe holds its 1x8 spindle. The nickel plating is extremely thin and peeling, the jaws are a little loose when open, much like in the above user's video, but I mean, they do tighten up when you...tighten them up. The only other chuck I was considering was a nearly identical (but presumably better machined and QC'd) PSI Barracuda at 3x the price because so many reviews said the cheep ones wobble. I decided last minute it was worth risking a return to possibly save 2/3 of the cost, and in my case it paid off. I can see other users have had problems, so I'm guessing the machining QC is the biggest problem.

I received this several months ago and have used it to turn some walnut bowls, hold blanks for center drilling and a few other tasks. The jaw action is smooth and it appears to be well balanced because there is no wobble or vibration when running at low or high speeds.It works for the small things I do.

Very good chuck. Having few problems with the wood slip but find the way to make it work. A little heavy for a mini wood turning lathe

Good price compared to others and shipped quickly. The only issue was the chuck key was a poor fit and would slip when tightening on my wood tenons. Fixed by taking rounded material near the key splines and squared off. Fits well now and does not slip.

This is going to be a Christmas gift and I am excited about it

Needs dovetail jaws but works good easy to use

It seemed to meet all the advertised criteria, however it was the wrong size for my lathe.
