Instead of using a single piece pot they welded a base to a roll. Then they went for a off color copper piping. Compared to fresh clean copper it just looks wrong. The bottom weld is pretty rough and looks cold like it didn't penetrate. I suspect it could break apart if pressure did build up inside it. The last straw was the thermometer which began to rust right away. Im going to return this a build my own.

Works pretty good

Overall it's a cleverly built product. A note on lead. The brass fittings do test positive for lead. Everything else tests clean. Some people say that the lead in the brass isn't enough to worry about. However, if you want to do the right thing you should eliminate all lead in contact with a product that will be consumed. The best way I found is to drill out the fittings with a 3/8 bit and sleeve with copper tubing. Slightly flare the copper for the larger side of the reducer fittings. Cut flush and file smooth.

I am still amazed at what you get for the money. It was packaged very well and came with a how - to booklet. The only reason I did not give a perfect score is that outlet valve was broken and it did not come with a small pump for condenser. Both easily repaired . Overall a good purchase and for the novice it was perfect.

This is a nice still for beginners , the hose on the condenser is a little to flemsy, but over all it’s good the application .
