The drill is plenty powerful, and cuts clean holes, but I've had way too many problems with it.
Problem #1- cooling fluid tank leaking. There are no seals nor an inside nut for attaching the valve to the container. I added an o-ring and created a nut out of some material I had lying around, and it fixed the leaking problem. After that, the cooling system worked fine, but fine tuning the shutoff valve is a bit tricky.
Problem #2- anti-spin pin catches on slide adjustment screws. I tried bending the provided pin, but it was easier to create a new one with a stainless steel bolt I had lying around. I bent it up 90 degrees, and now it catches on the drill instead of the slide
Problem #3- The chuck for the annular cutters is so tight, I have to press them in with the magnet engaged to get them in, and I have to use vise grips and a hammer with a block under the drill to remove the bits. I'm using the Vevor bits 11pc annular cutter set that's sold in this site.
Problem #4- I'm unable to adjust the slide to a smooth and suitable position. The drill was way too loose when I received it, so it wouldn't stay up under it's own power. I tried adjusting the slide several times, but it seems to be warped. It falls down in some spots, and is super tough to move up and down in others. No matter how much I adjust it, it doesn't work smoothly
Problem #5- The last straw... The stop screws for holding the annular cutters in place have started backing out when cutting steel. I"ve had this drill for less than a month, and I've been using it to cut 5/8" holes in my 1/4" steel table that I plan to use for a welding fixture table.
About Vevor itself... I've tried submitting a return request, but Vevor is giving me a hard time about the return, and they are instead trying to send me parts to repair the drill in a couple weeks. At this point, I just want my money back so I can buy a better product and finish my project. At this point, I don't think I'll be able to finish drilling the holes with this drill. This is the response I received from Vevor when I requested a return and refund:
