Bees are not blocked at 3/16" (4 mm) in a strict way — many can still pass or squeeze through.
A 4 mm mesh only reduces bee entry, it does not fully stop pollinators.
Many vegetables (tomatoes, peppers, beans) can self-pollinate or use wind.
Some small wild bees can still enter the cage for pollination.
So your plants will still get pollinated, just with reduced insect access.
