In fact they should be, because remember that part of the travel will be absorbed by the linear pads.
Let say you put those linear bearings ( black/green) 10” apart your travel will be 50” instead of 60” which is 1,5 meters if I don’t mistake the calculations.

In my case I’m moving the table so the bridge is stationary which gives me a much more rigidity to cut metal.
You’ll have more travel moving the bridge but less rigid machinery, all depends of what you want to do with the machine.
But if you want to take advantage of every inch then buy separately, there are vendors that sell every part separately.
