What happens if I don't wire up the ign cable? Does it have cut in/cut out voltage? Most DC to DC chargers you can omit connecting this cable if you have a regular alternator which I have, I don't have a smart alternator.

Can an SDC-30A DC to DC charger be used to charge LiFePo4 house batteries in a 5th wheel trailer from the pulling vehicle with alternator and lead-acid batteries? Charger needs to be on the trailer where there is no ignition signal. Please advise
