Cables can only be laid flat or spirally around the pipes and cannot overlap.

Please cover it with insulating flame-retardant material, such as foam or fiberglass.

It is waterproof but not water pressure resistant. It is fine to get wet in rain or snow, but it cannot be immersed in water. Especially the head, tail, plug and zero-degree switch cannot be immersed in water. The middle heating wire can be temporarily immersed in water.

The Thermostat allows the heating cable to completely shut off and draw (effectively) no power until it detects temperatures below 37ºF. Once it turns on, the self-regulating technology directs heat to the cold area(s) of the cable. Stops heating when the pipe temp. is 55ºF.

For ABS, PVC Plastic hose, copper, galvanized, steel pipe. The pipe heat cables can be used on pipes that are not always filled with water. Pipe diameter: 1/2 in ~2 in.
