I don't really know the correct answer I put it on a 22 ft center console with a 200 horse Mercury and it worked, I think it's pretty universal for mercury and if I remember it works on the 150 as well worst case scenario you could return it if it doesn't work as long as you don't damage it, I chose not to remove the motor, it did make it difficult removing the old steering cable system and installing the new one I ended up drilling a hole on the side to be able to do it with the motor still on there some people would choose not to do that otherwise you may have to pull the motor, it is an awesome steering system though you can steer it with one finger.
