where do you stand to determine whether the pool is a right step or a left step, the shallow or the deep end?

Drawing shows a pool size of a 12' x 32' rectangle with a 2' x 4' left step? That seems unusually narrow - is this correct? From the description I assumed this cover was made for a pool that is 16x32 with an additional 2x4 left step - that is the size configuration that I require. I need 16x32 with 2x4 left step.

I order this left side step in the description. I noticed once I placed my order there was a right side step that was automatically selected. Will I be receiving a right side step or left side step ?
