It could be used for that purpose. I use it to keep my chicken coop protected from predators. Much stronger than raccoons Etc.. can get through.

Any suggestions on how to install this to an aluminum fence other than zip ties?

If you haven't already installed it, I suggest you return it. My 2 rolls rusted within 6 months and have started falling apart in a year. See my reviews with images

i know rabbits can chew the coating off. is the wire thick enough to keep them out of my yard?
