How far from the fire does the ring need to be? I’m looking at the 17 inch. The burner is ring shaped and will be about 3.5 inches away from the ring.

Hello Sam. This is tempered glass, which is high temperature resistant. Generally speaking, the size of the windshield is at least 2 inches larger than the size of the brazier on the table.
