I have my ice machine set up properly and wanting to use a water jug for ice making. It wont suck water from jug. Why? It hums for about 5 minutes then shuts off. I have it set on the right function

What/why was the the water jug (carboy) pictured for if it cannot get water from a carboy and must be connected to a direct line? Do you need a drain nearby for this unit to work properly? Why is it expelling water?

Does the ice machine have a drain pump. My drain will be above the line into a pea trap. So it would have to pump the water out into the drain.
