The press pressure is adjustable so 2 layers is fine. I often use a cloth or sheet of paper between layers to prevent bleed through.

The hight is adjustable for thicker items and can be adjusted for thinner items. For the canvas tote bags yes it will work just use parchment paper or butcher paper when pressing.

Yes it works with canvas bags and you can put 2 layers of canvas in it.
