This says for inground pools but it will work for above ground pools too right?
It can also be used for above-ground pools, but the insulation of above-ground pools is relatively not as good, so when choosing, you should opt for a slightly larger size.

Is it normal for the cooling fins to ice up? Are there any videos or other that demonstrate how to use this ? Does it automatically turn on when the pump runs?
Frost buildup is normal, but ice formation is not. You might want to take a photo to check; the customer may be referring to frost. Does the customer’s description of usage refer to operating the remote control? If the pump is connected externally and running independently, the pump will start, and the unit will remain in standby mode. It will automatically activate when the pool water temperature falls below the target temperature. If this answer does not resolve your issue, please contact us
