Frost buildup is normal, but ice formation is not. You might want to take a photo to check; the customer may be referring to frost. Does the customer’s description of usage refer to operating the remote control? If the pump is connected externally and running independently, the pump will start, and the unit will remain in standby mode. It will automatically activate when the pool water temperature falls below the target temperature.
