I would look yo see what is slowing the doors fall. The trap could be bent or not setting right on its hangers . I got one out of the box. Bent bad. But I was able to straight it. . The door wold not latch in the open or set position on it

It is adjustable if you can tweak it and move the little clip on the side, which should probably work or get appliers and adjust it.

Mine works fine. I’d contact the manufacturer and possibly its defective.

Mine is doing the same thing

I have a similar issue. I trapped a raccoon but she escaped by pushing out the door. For the past several months, I wasn’t able to catch a single living thing with that trap.

The links and springs are tight I used grease on mine and now there working fine at first very hard to get it to lock so far raccoons coyote 3 many feral cats 3 dog and the night 1 skunk working great now so try someone grease work it in worked on mine

I had the same problem and never caught a critter in the trap.

Be sure to align the door so it shuts strait downwards.
