Yes. The bottom pad is attached to a steel tube that has holes in it to allow the foot to be dropped down so the jack does not have to be cranked all the way down to raise it. The tube with the foot removable. I suggest carrying a chunk of 4x6 for 4x8 that is at least a foot long. This can be used to keep from having to do as much cranking and if on wet and mushy ground, this keeps the foot from sinking into the soil.
